Hello again, long time no see, how have you been?

That title above was my attempt at casual conversation, the next bit will be the equivalent of slipping some shiny business cards unnoticed into your pocket as I regale you with tales.

I should really apologise for the first photo in this email, it's scary to be stared at so intently - doubly so when the person eyeballing you is Killing Joke's Jaz Colman! (If you don't know him, look him up - he's the real deal). I shot it in my studio for Universal Music to promote Killing Jokes forthcoming reformation album. The week following this photo being taken Jaz was knighted in France for his contribution to music - fancy that.

The next photo, although another portrait, represents something quite different for me. I've been helping film a movie for director Daivd Hughes,'Crikey Villians' is in the editing stage as I type this, and I'm guessing it will be out next year. This photo was taken from a session in my studio for the movie's poster - interesting stuff!

Still on the subject of filming, BAFTA has it's headquarters/club thing on Piccadilly in Laaandon, I was summoned there by Orange (via M&C Saatchi) to shoot the judging panel for the Orange Wednesdays Rising Star Award to be presented at the next British Academy for Film and Television Awards (so that's the OWRSA BAFTA for those acronym-o-philes). Not short of stars, the panel included Tom Ford, Peter Sarsgaard, Nathalie McElhorn and Plan B (Ben Drew) - unfortunately I can't report any spats or divas as everyone was quite pleasant and polite.

Those of you who've been paying attention to my previous spam friendly and informative emails, you'll know I am working with Lloyds TSB and The Bank Of Scotland (via Four Comms.) in photographing young up-and-coming athletes who are potential future Olympians. Well the other week we nipped down to the London Olympic Stadium site and took a few piccies. I never fail to be refreshed by the modesty of these people, really keen to help out where ever they can. The cynic in me expects this to fade over time and success, whereas the realist in me tells the cynic in me to sit down, have a cup of tea and cheer up.

The Relentless Freeze Festival takes place each year at Battersea Power Station, it's a ski and snowboard event which sees people flipping and spinning, falling and stomping various tricks off a scaffold mounted jump in front of a crowd swashed on Jagermeister. This year I was there taking photos for Red Bull, as they had a plethora of their athletes competing it was a rare opportunity to capture them all on the same weekend.

Nipped 'up the road' (that's code for scotchland) for sunglasses company 'Maui Jim' to take a couple of snaps of Darren Clarke (Rider Cup Vice-captain) at his and Ian Botham's charity golfing event. Ended up with only 5 minutes to shoot him after flying up the night before - such a busy chap! Hey-ho, at least it wasn't raining!

The final photo in this email is another example of a 'thing' photo (some photographers call them 'still life', but I've never been very good with words) It's a table with the tube map carved out of it - as any graphic designer will tell you; the tube map is one of the best pieces of graphic design to come out of London in the last millennia - and I think that was designed in someones (Paul Garbutt's) spare time!

...and now for some big news - If you had been honey-trapped into clicking on any of the images in this email you might have noticed that...

I HAVE A NEW WEBSITE!

Like many people these days, I have this inane belief that people care what I have to say, it is with this grandiose delusion that my new site takes the form of a blog.

It's constantly being updated, and this email will serve to form a bit of a round up of those updates, I figured that rather than asking for you, the avid reader, to wait until I get around to sending a group email, you can now while away your lunch-hours clicking through (and possibly commenting on) my latest images when you feel like it. Aren't I nice to you?

That's it for this email, makes a change to keep things fairly brief, and besides - it gives you more time to nip over to my website and mooch through there. Hope you like it!

Lots of love,

-Nathan
